Ervin L. Shaw
Ervin L. Shaw, 49, died on January 16, 2026, after he was being transported from the Adams County Jail in Quincy, Illinois, to the Illinois Department of Corrections along with six other people. According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, he had a medical emergency and became unresponsive in the transport vehicle around 7 a.m., and he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff's office lists the cause as a medical emergency, and the manner of death is still pending. Illinois State Police and the Morgan County Coroner's Office are investigating.
