Died in jail or a lockup
Ernest Everets
Ernest Everets was held in the Centralia jail in Washington. On Tuesday night, November 11, 1919, a mob took him from the jail and killed him by hanging. An Associated Press report says he was hanged from a bridge near the town, while another account places the hanging on a road near Centralia. Ernest was a man, and his killing followed a shooting at an Armistice Day parade in Centralia, a link that some accounts draw, though the sources differ on the details.
