Ernest Baldree
Ernest Baldree, 55, was put to death by lethal injection at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville, Texas, on April 29, 1997, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In a 1991 affidavit, a man who had been held at a county jail and had testified against Baldree at trial said prosecutors had pressured him to testify in exchange for favorable treatment in his own case. The prosecutors denied this. Baldree's habeas petition was dismissed the same day his execution was carried out.
