Erick DeAnda
Erick DeAnda, 24, of Salinas, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Monterey County Jail at about 3:13 p.m. on September 16, 2015. The Sheriff's Office said he died by hanging and classified the death as a suicide. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The Salinas Californian reported it was the third suicide by hanging at the jail that year.
