Erica Ekker, 31, died on May 15, 2017, in her cell at the Humboldt County Jail in Eureka, California. The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office said a deputy found her not breathing during a security check. The Humboldt County Critical Incident Response Team is investigating, and the manner of her death has not been determined.
