Eric Turner, 51, died on March 2, 2026, after a medical emergency while he was held at the Marion County Jail in Ocala, Florida. According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, jail staff gave emergency care before he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff's office says the cause and manner of death remain under investigation. A separate Ocala Gazette report about another death at the jail that month says the sheriff's office declined to comment on the circumstances.
