Eric Johnson, 53, of Oakland, died at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, California, on February 8, 2024. Deputies found him unresponsive in his cell in the early morning, and he was pronounced dead at the jail at 5:30 a.m. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office said the cause of death is not yet known and will be determined by the county medical examiner. The sheriff's office also said the district attorney and the California Attorney General's Office had been notified.
