Eric John Mitchell
Eric Mitchell, 32, was a passenger in a fire truck carrying people held at Terrell County State Prison in Georgia when it crashed on June 22, 2022, at Callis Road and Sellars Road near Sasser. Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Raul Mejia said he was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle. The Georgia State Patrol said its investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Georgia Department of Corrections recorded his death at Terrell County Correctional Institution on the same date.
