Eric John Knysz
Eric John Knysz was 20 years old when he died in April 2014. He was held in a single cell in a special management unit at the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson, Michigan, where he was found hanging from a bed sheet on April 14. He was taken to a hospital on life support and declared brain dead, and his life support was removed on April 17 so his organs could be donated. A Michigan State Police detective concluded the death was a suicide, according to a police report obtained by MLive, while the final autopsy and toxicology reports were still pending when that article was written.
