Eric Dwayne Perkins
Eric Dwayne Perkins, 34, was held at the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center in Topeka, Kansas. After a medical emergency was called at the jail on June 24, 2023, staff and emergency responders tried to save him and took him to Stormont Vail Medical Center, where he died on June 26. The Shawnee County Department of Corrections said the cause was a suicide attempt. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the department are investigating his death.
