Enrique Gonsalez-Cruz
Enrique Gonsalez-Cruz, 27, of Oakland, died in December 2025 while in custody at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office said he was found unresponsive in a holding cell with a ligature around his neck, and that he was taken to a hospital, where he died. One account said he had been alone in the cell before he was found. The sheriff's office said a forensic pathologist will determine the cause and manner of death, and his family has been notified.
