Enrique Gomeztagle
Enrique Gomeztagle, 31, was held at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California. On January 29, 2025, officers conducting security rounds found him unresponsive in his cell, and he was pronounced dead at 5:34 p.m., according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. CDCR said it is investigating the death as a homicide, and a cellmate was moved to restricted housing or removed from the cell pending investigation. The Kern County Coroner later determined he died of asphyxia from strangulation, with an obstructed airway caused by a foreign object, and the Kern County District Attorney's Office is also investigating.
