Emil Witherspoon
Emil Witherspoon, 44, died on February 4, 2022, while held at the Clark County Jail. The Clark County Sheriff's Office said deputies found him unresponsive in his cell at about 11:25 a.m. during routine checks, and he was pronounced dead later at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Lt. Kris Shultz of the sheriff's office said his injuries were consistent with self-harm, but the coroner has not determined the cause or manner of death, and both offices are investigating.
