Elvin Craig Stacey
Elvin Craig Stacey, 63, was from Pensacola, Florida. Because of his medical history he was kept in the medical unit of the Mobile County Metro Jail after he was taken there in November 2023. On the morning of January 1, 2024, a jail nurse found him unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital within the hour. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office said he appeared to have died of existing health problems and saw no evidence of foul play, with an autopsy to confirm the cause.
