Died in prison
Elton Masasi
Elton Masasi, 33, was held in Post 6, the maximum security unit of Guam's prison. The Department of Corrections said he was found unresponsive in his cell on December 14, 2018, and that he had hurt himself. He was taken to Naval Hospital Guam in critical condition and died on December 15, 2018. The official autopsy report is still pending, and the DOC and Guam Police Department are investigating.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. The Department of Corrections said Masasi was hurt by a self-inflicted injury, and the official medical examiner report is still pending.
