Elioenaid Rivera, 20, was found dead in his cell at the Shasta County Jail shortly after midnight on November 22, 2017, during a bed check. Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said he appeared to have hanged himself, possibly with bed sheets. The coroner had not announced a cause of death and said an autopsy report could take up to 90 days.
