Elijah Roberts, 35, died in March 2024 after being found unresponsive in his cell at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, Oregon, and taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington, where he was pronounced dead. His fiancée, Ashley Wolff, said doctors told the family he had overdosed on fentanyl, and she said a guard was present while he was in a coma at the hospital. Friends remembered him as someone who always tried to make others laugh, and his girlfriend Brittany said he had recently proposed to her and hoped prison would be a reset. The Oregon Department of Corrections has released no cause of death and says records are unavailable because of a pending internal investigation, while the State Medical Examiner's determination is still pending.
