Elijah Frost
Frost was one of three men held by a constable at Willette in Mendocino County, California, when a mob took them from the constable and hanged them on September 3, 1879. A San Francisco dispatch names the three men only by their surnames, and a separate report datelined Ukiah gives Elijah Frost's full name. Accounts of how the constable responded to the mob differ, and the surviving dispatches do not say.
