Efrain “Stone” Reyes

51 years old · died November 27, 2020 · Queens Detention Facility, Queens County, New York

Efrain Reyes, 51, was a father of two who was close to his mother and niece, and a friend held with him said he hoped to get his life together. He was held at the Queens Detention Facility, a jail run by GEO Group, where he caught COVID-19, and he was released in April 2020. He died in late 2020 at his mother's Bronx apartment, and a source close to Reyes says the virus left him with lung problems and breathing difficulties that he never fully recovered from, and that these caused his death. The two reports give different dates for his death, December and November 27, and no official cause or manner of death is given.
