Edward Schaefer
Edward Schaefer, 44, was held at San Quentin State Prison in California. Authorities and prison officials said he was stabbed in the chest and neck with a homemade weapon. He was pronounced dead at a hospital around 9 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, about 11 hours after the attack. Prison officials have identified another person held at the prison as a suspect and are investigating whether others were involved.
