Edward Parker
Edward Parker, 46, died on August 13, 2020, while held at Johnston Correctional Institution in Smithfield, North Carolina, a state prison run by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. According to a JoCo Report article, staff found him unresponsive in his cell that Thursday morning and tried to resuscitate him. Prison staff said his death is being treated as an apparent suicide, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
