Edward J. Record, Jr., 47, died on January 6, 2025, while held at the L.C. Knight Detention Center in Summerville, South Carolina. The Dorchester County Coroner's Office said he was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m. An autopsy was performed on January 11, and its results are still pending. The State Law Enforcement Division and the coroner's office are investigating the cause and manner of death.
