Edward Doyle Cowart
Edward Doyle Cowart, 52, died after being found on the floor of his cell at the Angelina County Jail in Texas in the early morning of April 29, 2026. The Angelina County Sheriff's Office said he showed signs consistent with a stroke, and he was taken to hospitals where he later died. The sheriff's office was told of his death on May 3, and the cause of death is pending an autopsy. The Texas Rangers are conducting an independent investigation, according to the Lufkin Daily News.
