Edrite Isar
Edrite Isar died in December 2017 in his cell at the Hagatna Detention Facility in Guam. Police said he had been beaten by several other people held there hours before guards found him unresponsive, and seven of those people have been charged in the attack. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola first ruled the death natural, then after an autopsy determined he died from a crushed chest and lacerated liver consistent with being stomped or kicked. The Department of Corrections has completed an internal affairs investigation, and seven officers have been served notice of proposed adverse action, with 10 days to respond before the prison director decides on discipline.
