Eddie Garcia, 29, died on June 12, 2021 while held at the Nueces County Jail in Texas. A correctional officer found him unresponsive in his cell on Saturday night, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline. Sheriff J.C. Hooper said the death appears to be self-strangulation. The sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division and the Texas Rangers are investigating the death.
