Eddie Garcia
Eddie Garcia, 25, died on May 13, 2022, while held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center in Oklahoma City. According to a detention center news release, a detention officer doing sight checks opened his cell door and called for help after he did not respond to commands, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after 3 a.m. The jail's initial investigation said his death could be an accidental overdose. The Chief Medical Examiner's report later listed the probable cause of death as an accidental fentanyl overdose, with no other drugs reported.
