Eddie Dungan
Edward Dugan, 36, of Eugene, died in January 2023 at Two Rivers Correctional Institution, a state prison in Umatilla, Oregon. The Oregon Department of Corrections and the state medical examiner's office said he died of acute methamphetamine toxicity. His sister, Christy Running, says he was left in a dry cell for more than 70 hours, that staff saw he was unwell, and that he was left there anyway; a state trooper confirmed he was in a dry cell when he died. Court records link his death to methamphetamine allegedly supplied to him by another person. His family has held protests and events in Lane County and Los Angeles calling for accountability, and has set up a website about his death.

The Oregon Department of Corrections and Medical Examiner's Office attribute the death to acute methamphetamine toxicity, while court documents tie it to methamphetamine allegedly supplied by another person; his sister says staff left him in a dry cell for more than 70 hours after he appeared unwell.
