Eddie Clark
Eddie Eugene Clark was held at Calipatria State Prison in Imperial County, California, when he was stabbed in the neck with a homemade blade in November 2000, according to a 2016 Los Angeles Times account. That account describes him as a respected elder in the old gang and neighborhood of the man who stabbed him, Reggie Cole, who said he acted in self-defense after an earlier threat from Clark. A 2016 Rolling Stone account says Clark, known in the prison as 'Devil', was stabbed during a pat-down in C-yard and was dead by the time a doctor reached him about thirty minutes later.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Reggie Cole, the inmate who stabbed Clark, says he acted in self-defense after an earlier threat from Clark.
