Dwight Gibbs
Dwight Gibbs, 24, was held at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California, when the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) said he was attacked by other incarcerated people on June 28, 2024. According to CDCR, he was taken to the prison's triage and treatment area and then to an outside medical facility, where he was pronounced dead that evening. FOX 11 Los Angeles reported that CDCR said three people took part in the attack, and CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide. The Kern County Coroner will determine the official cause of death.
