Dustin Goodwin
Dustin Goodwin, 41, of Du Quoin, was found dead in his cell at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro, Illinois, on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, according to a sheriff's office news release. The sheriff's office said he did not have a cellmate. Illinois State Police and the Jackson County Coroner's Office were investigating, and an autopsy was scheduled for later that week. A separate state report lists the death as a suicide, as claimed by the sheriff's office, but the cause had not been confirmed by the coroner at the time of these accounts.
