Duane Youd
Police described Duane Youd as an experienced pilot who flew for the company that owned the small plane he was flying. He had been released from the Utah County Jail on bail only hours before, and early on Monday, August 13, 2018, the plane crashed into his home in Payson. His wife and a boy inside the house got out safely, but Youd died in the crash. Payson Police Sgt. Noemi Sandoval said police do not know whether he intended to hit the house.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. Payson Police Sgt. Noemi Sandoval said police do not know whether Youd intended to crash the plane into his home.
