Dorothy Mae Bernard
Dorothy Mae Bernard, 59, of Monetta, was found dead in her cell at the Aiken County Detention Center in July 2021, according to the Aiken County Coroner, Darryl Ables. She was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead that afternoon. The coroner said no foul play was suspected, and an autopsy was scheduled. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating, and the cause and manner of her death have not been announced.
