Donnie Johnson

Donnie Johnson was executed by lethal injection by the State of Tennessee on May 16, 2019, at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville. Reports say he declined a last meal and asked his supporters to donate meals to homeless people instead. A lawyer who witnessed the execution said the gasping sounds he made suggested he was suffering. Autopsies were planned for him, according to Corrections1 reporting.
