Donnie Ellis Ward, 42, of Lenoir, died on September 6, 2018, while held at Central Prison in Raleigh, North Carolina. The N.C. Department of Correction said shortly after midnight that he had been found unresponsive in his cell and that his death was an apparent suicide. State Capitol Police are investigating his death.
