Donnell L. Candya
Donnell L. Candya, 21, died on December 2, 2015, at Palmetto Health Richland hospital while in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Corrections, after being held at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said an autopsy found head injuries he described as "not due to a fall." The manner of death remains pending an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division and state corrections officials.
