Donald Harvey

Donald Harvey, 64, was held at Toledo Correctional Institution in Toledo, Ohio. Prison officials said he was injured in an assault there on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, and died of his injuries at a hospital on the morning of Thursday, March 30. A patrol report cited by officials said an unnamed person entered his cell and beat him. The Ohio State Patrol had not said whether it knew who assaulted him.

Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. The prison and the State Highway Patrol say another inmate beat Donald Harvey in his cell, and the patrol says a fellow inmate is suspected, though no one has been charged.
