Domonique Thurston
Domonique Thurston, 27, was stabbed to death while held at a Prince George's County correctional facility. His father, Douglas Lloyd, said his son lived with schizophrenia, psychosis and an extremely low IQ, and that the family wanted him to get the care and medication he needed. Lloyd said his son was not properly medicated and was placed in a block with people the family described as violent, and that Thurston "could have been saved." A federal lawsuit alleges the county was negligent and indifferent to his needs in the months before the killing. The county declined to comment on the pending litigation.
