Died in jail or a lockup
Derrick Harden
Derrick Harden, 55, died at the LAPD 77th Street Station jail in Los Angeles on July 15, 2023. The Los Angeles Police Department said he had been taken to a hospital and returned to the jail early that Saturday, and that he collapsed in his cell. The department said jail staff and paramedics tried to save him before he was pronounced dead. The cause and manner of his death remain under investigation.
