Derek Smith
Derek Michael Smith, 31, of Buxton, was held at the York County Jail in Alfred, Maine. The York County Sheriff's Office said he had a medical emergency on the night of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, and was taken to a local hospital, where he died. The sheriff said state protocols were followed. Officials have not released details about the emergency, and an autopsy was scheduled for the following day, with the cause and manner of death still pending.
