Derek Richardson
Derek Richardson died at the Clay County Jail in April 2013. Jail officials said he had tried to take his own life and died of his injuries five days after he was found attempting suicide. Officials said medical staff would complete an organ donor procedure before his body was released to the Jackson County medical examiner. Clay County Prosecutor Daniel White said his death had harmed his family and loved ones.
