Derek Michael Smith
Derek Michael Smith, 31, of Buxton, was being held at the York County Jail in Alfred. The York County Sheriff's Office said he experienced a medical emergency on the night of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, and was taken to a local hospital, where he died. Officials have not released details about the emergency. An autopsy was scheduled for the following day, and the death remains under investigation.
