Deon Lee, 30, became ill in the Division 9 section of Cook County Jail in the early hours of Saturday, August 13, 2022, and was pronounced dead at 1:01 a.m. The sheriff's office said he was not suspected of foul play or self-harm. The Cook County medical examiner's office has not yet determined the cause of death, pending further testing, and the sheriff's office is investigating.
