Denny Lovern

59 years old · died April 8, 2017 · Arapahoe County Detention Facility, Arapahoe County, Colorado

Denny Lovern was 59 years old and had a history of heart attacks and stents. His daughter, Darla Dailey, said they had been rebuilding their relationship in his last years, with her visiting often and him getting to know his grandchildren. He was held at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility in Colorado in April 2017, and died there on April 8, 2017. According to a lawsuit against Correct Care Solutions, his chest pains were treated as a stomach problem and he was not seen by a doctor, and he had vomited for more than a day before he was found unresponsive in his cell. These claims are the lawsuit's allegations and have not been decided in court.

Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness (neglect alleged). The lawsuit by Denny Lovern's estate, through attorney Anna Holland Edwards, says staff treated his chest pains as a stomach problem and did not have a doctor see him despite his heart history, and that he was found unresponsive in his cell.

Reported by: Estate of Denny Lovern v. Correct Care Solutions (attorney Anna Holland Edwards) (family or their lawyers).

Lawsuit: His estate sued Correct Care Solutions over his death, and no settlement or award amount is reported.
