Dennis Mayotte

Dennis Mayotte, 37, of North Springfield, Vermont, was found not breathing in his cell at Southern State Correctional Facility during a cell check on a Sunday afternoon in early November 2023. The Vermont Department of Corrections said EMTs pronounced him dead at about 1:10 p.m. The Vermont State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the Department's internal reviews and separate investigations by the Vermont State Police and the Defender General's Prisoners' Rights Office are underway.
