Dennis Cruz
Dennis Cruz, 28, died on September 13, 2017, after another person held at the state prison in Corcoran, California, chased him into the yard and stabbed him. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he was pronounced dead at the prison's medical center and attributed the death to a stabbing with a weapon made inside the prison. The department said officers used pepper spray to subdue the other person, and that its Investigative Services Unit would investigate the death.
