Demario White

died March 9, 2025 · Richmond City Jail, Richmond city County, Virginia

Demario White died on March 9, 2025, at a local hospital after a medical emergency at the Richmond City Jail, where he was held in custody. His mother, Willnette Noble, and his daughter, Raykeema Jennings-Bey, said the family was initially told only that he had a medical emergency and are still waiting for answers. The Medical Examiner's Office later determined the cause of death to be fentanyl and Xylazine toxicity, while the sheriff's office released little information about what happened. Two 911 calls from the jail described a person down and an overdose, and the sheriff would not say whether they were related to his death, and the state jail board is conducting a review.

Cause of death, as reported: Died of an overdose. The Medical Examiner's Office determined that he died of fentanyl and Xylazine toxicity.

Reported by: Medical Examiner's Office (medical examiner or coroner).
