Debbie Kocan
Debbie Kocan, 52, was held at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility in McMinnville, Oregon, and was placed in a temporary holding cell to await transport. The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said deputies found her unresponsive a short time later and that it appeared she had tried to take her own life with a phone cord. Staff began first aid before medical personnel took her to Willamette Valley Medical Center, where she died a few days later, in October 2016. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into her death.
Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide. The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said Kocan appeared to have attempted suicide with a phone cord in a holding cell, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation.
