DeAnn Elliot, 29, was living at the Dismas Charities Halfway House on West Oak Street in Louisville. Metro Police said she died after being stabbed with an ice pick late on Monday, June 16, 2008, inside a men's restroom in the building, and that another resident was involved. Police said she was not forced into the restroom and that it is unclear what led to the attack. Dismas Charities is investigating how the weapon got into the facility.

Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Metro Police say a fellow resident stabbed her with an ice pick inside a men's restroom at the Dismas Charities Halfway House in Louisville.
