DeAngelo Dewayne Brown was 40 and from Birmingham. Late on July 2, 2025, he was found unresponsive in his single-person cell at the Birmingham City Jail, and he was pronounced dead at the jail 44 minutes later. Birmingham police said they were investigating, and a postmortem examination was scheduled; no cause of death was reported.
