David Viron Garrett
David Viron Garrett, 33, died at Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina, after a small fire started in his cell on September 3, 2023. The South Carolina Department of Corrections said he had no cellmate and that lifesaving measures failed. The State Law Enforcement Division, the SCDC Inspector General's Office and the Dorchester County Coroner are investigating, and an autopsy is planned to determine the cause and manner of death.
